Three minutes marching. On the spot, then moving, lifting each skate clear of the floor. This is the drill that teaches your ankles to hold you up, and it is the one everybody skips.

Four minutes gliding on one foot, alternating, then four minutes of plow stops until one of them happens without you assembling it first. Finish with four minutes of turns in both directions.

Fifteen minutes four times a week beats an hour on Sunday, and it is not close. Balance is a habit before it is a skill, and habits are built by frequency rather than by duration.
